The Copicut community solar project combines more than 12 MW of single-axis tracker solar and 22 MWh of battery storage to deliver reliable renewable energy when it’s needed most. Designed as a solar-plus-storage project, Copicut generates an estimated 17,924 MWh of clean electricity each year while helping strengthen grid resilience and expand access to renewable power. The project received an award from the state’s Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) program, which provides solar and storage project incentives.

Environmental Impact
This project will have an environmental impact equivalent to avoiding the greenhouse gas emissions generated by a gasoline-powered passenger vehicle driving more than 30.6 million miles, or eliminating the CO₂ emissions associated with charging nearly 974 million smartphones over the course of one year.
