This project reflects Standard Solar’s ability to deliver practical, community-focused renewable energy solutions that help public sector customers reduce costs, lower emissions and advance long-term sustainability goals.
Developed at Lake County’s Central Permit Facility in Libertyville, Illinois, the 1 MW ground-mounted solar array generates approximately 1,452,000 kWh of clean electricity annually. The system powers the facility with renewable energy while helping Lake County reduce carbon emissions and make progress toward its long-term environmental and economic sustainability objectives. In 2020, the Lake County Board set a goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions for government operations, and this project represents a meaningful step toward that commitment.
The project also marked Standard Solar’s entry into the Illinois renewable energy market, where favorable state policies and incentives have helped create strong momentum for further solar deployment.
Standard Solar collaborated with WCP Solar and Lake County on the project and now serves as the long-term owner-operator of the array.
