Wheeler Gulch Solar Project: Advancing Renewable Energy in the Energy Sector with 12.18 MW Solar Installation

Standard Solar, in partnership with Caerus Piceance, LLC, has completed the 12.18-megawatt (MW) Wheeler Gulch Solar Project in Colorado. This large-scale solar installation is designed to provide clean, renewable energy to support Caerus Piceance’s operations, demonstrating the power of strategic solar development in the energy sector.

“This project was initiated to lock in the cost of a portion of Caerus Piceances’s energy requirement for decades, and displace coal fired electricity from the grid with clean solar power,” said Dave Keyte, CEO, Caerus Piceance.

Project Details

  • Location: Colorado
  • System Size: 12.18 MW
  • Annual Energy Production: Approximately 18,000 MWh
  • CO2 Offset: Equivalent to removing over 2,800 cars from the road annually
  • Ownership & Operation: Standard Solar owns and operates the system
