Standard Solar brings clean energy to hundreds with New York’s largest community solar and storage project
Standard Solar funded, installed and developed the Lenox Community Solar Project, unique addition to New York’s sustainability effort given that it is a 5,933 MWh solar array coupled with a 20 MWh DC-coupled battery. The system, the largest of its kind in the state, will allow hundreds of businesses and residents to enjoy lower electricity bills.
In addition to bringing clean energy to the area, the Lenox Community Solar and Storage Project will bolster New York’s push to ease demands on the grid and help National Grid and the state meet their NY Clean Energy Standard requirements of generating 70% of electricity from renewable resources by 2030.
The system uses 17,966 fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker solar modules and is expected to reduce annual carbon offset by about 264,931,764 pounds of coal burned.
