Chippewa Sun reflects Standard Solar’s ability to deliver high-impact renewable energy projects that support Wisconsin’s carbon-free energy goals while creating measurable sustainability benefits for subscribers across the Chippewa Valley.
The project delivers clean, renewable energy to three subscribers: The Sonnentag at the University of Wisconsin, the Pablo Group and the City of Eau Claire. The local utility purchases electricity from the array, which generates 10 million kWh annually. Through the project, all three subscribers are advancing their sustainability goals. The system supplies 100% of the electricity used at The Sonnentag, reinforcing the University’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship. The City of Eau Claire is offsetting electricity use at City Hall, a water treatment plant and other facilities, furthering the renewable energy goals outlined in its Renewable Energy Action Plan. Pablo Group is also reducing the environmental impact of its operations, including the design of a hotel.
Standard Solar is the long-term owner and operator of the system and collaborated with OneEnergy Renewables and Hunt Electric to bring the project to life.
