On Tuesday, students from Poolesville High School’s Global Ecology Program visited Standard Solar co-founder Lee Bristol’s house in rural Maryland during a tour of local homes that employ solar, geothermal and wind power. The Global Ecology Program offered at the high school combines science and social studies and aims to “endow students with a sense of environmental citizenship, responsibility and appreciation for the natural world.” Lee welcomed more than 30 young people on the gorgeous, sunny first day of Spring, providing information and fielding questions about the photovoltaic and solar hot water heating systems he has installed.
