The primary reason we "went solar: was to do our part to protect the environment.  In D.C. the greatest impact on air quality comes from the use of fossil fuels to generate electricity.  By going solar we were able to reduce our carbon footprint while also reducing our monthly energy bill.  We also wanted to make choices that positively affect our environment and improve the country's  energy security.

The article on our Standard Solar installation in the Washington Times doesn't tell the half of it.  You have got to come over on a sunny day and watch the meter flying backwards!  It is amazing.  Yesterday the meter was running backward at 7:35 AM!
