Catholic University, Washington, DC

Standard Solar Catholic University Washington DC

Standard Solar provided a complete turnkey solar power facility including design, engineering, financing and construction. The PPA, provided by Washington Gas Energy Services, provides the client with no capital expenditure or operating risks, predictable energy costs and power at a discount to utility-provided energy.

Standard Solar designed and installed a series of solar arrays to this LEED Gold building. The PV array is designed to power the LED garage lighting.

University of Delaware

Standard Solar University of Delaware

Standard Solar installed solar electric systems at three UD locations – the Field House, Clayton Hall on the Laird Campus off Route 896 and at 461 Wyoming Road. A significant challenge to this project was one of the initial sites chosen, the UD Field House, that features a half barrel-shaped roof. Although the shape of the roof is nearly ideal for solar, the installation of flat solar modules on a rounded roof presented the team with quite a challenge.

St. Mary's County Public Schools - George Washington Carver Elementary, MD

Standard Solar St. Mary’s County Public Schools

St. Mary’s County Public Schools made a commitment to green schools—and honored it by enlisting Standard Solar to install and operate a more than 500 kW solar system on the grounds and roof of George Washington Carver Elementary School. The elementary school’s system is expected to generate approximately 677,000 kilowatt hours of electricity in its first year of operations, representing 80 percent of the school’s energy needs. The amount of clean energy the system will produce in its first year is equivalent to taking 105.5 cars off the road each year.

GSA, Raleigh, NC

Standard Solar GSA Raleigh North Carolina

Standard Solar developed a 560 kW solar power solution to assist GSA reach their decreased energy consumption mandate. This solar project is in compliance with ARRA regulations and fulfills all “Made in USA” requirements. The system provides the building with all their renewable energy needs, well in excess of government regulations. The system represents GSA’s first major PV installation system in the area.

US National Archives, College Park, MD

Under contract to AMERESCO SSI designed and installed a roof-mounted PV systems at the National Archives research facility in suburban Maryland.


Perdue Farms

Perdue has had a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, so the company’s interest in solar energy was a natural development. In 2011, Perdue Inc. partnered with Standard Solar and Washington Gas Energy Services (WGES) to flip the switch on 2.8 megawatts (MW) of solar PV power at the Salisbury,  MD corporate headquarters and its feed mill facility in Bridgeville, DE.

Rockville Blades, Rockville, MD

Standard Solar designed, developed and installed this 701 kW roofmounted system. This system represents one of the largest solar electric energy systems in Maryland. Standard Solar also created a “first ever” third party Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to specifically meet the needs of all stakeholders in the project.

Kelly & Sons Electrical, Upper Marlboro, MD

Standard Solar designed, developed, installed and financed this 150 kW roofmounted system. PPA financing was provided by Washington Gas Energy Services.

BG&E, Baltimore, MD

Standard Solar installed a 155 kW ground-mounted system. The system represents BGE’s first major PV system and is installed on the grounds of their gas distribution facility.

General Motors Electric Vehicle Charging Station, White Marsh, MD

General Motors selected the partnership of Standard Solar, Inc. and TimberRock Energy Solutions,Inc. to build one of the first solar EV charging stations in the nation at its Allison Transmission plant near Baltimore. For commutes of 25 miles or less, the system provides 100% emissions-free driving by poweringelectric vehicles—such as the Chevy Volt—exclusively from renewable solar power.
